Setting The Standard In Performing Arts Since 2003.
Originally established in Sussex, the Birmingham school was opened in May 2013.
The school has raised the bar in the Midlands with a reputation for excellence and innovation in performing arts training. The school is open to all young people aged 6 to 18 years.
A professional team of teachers, all established performers themselves – run weekly workshops in all aspects of theatre, TV and film, singing and dance. Our unique classes prepare students for regular professional and amateur performances, exams, festivals and auditions.
If you have a burning desire to perform, want to find some confidence and meet new friends, while being trained by the most inspiring teachers out there – The Theatre Workshop is for you!
Students in the Birmingham schools have already made great progress in securing professional work within the industry due to our links with a leading children’s agency. These include Kinder Egg advert, Startrite shoes advert, Fiddler on the roof UK Tour, Annie get your gun UK Tour, Winner of Monologue Slam UK 2014 & 2015 , Various CBBC Programmes.
Due to popular demand and the continuing success of our Birmingham students a second school has been opened in the afternoon.
Our student’s have also performed at Birmingham Christmas lights switch on, Sutton Carnival, 10 year Anniversary Concert at the Brighton Dome, Christmas Lights at Highbury Hall, Birmingham.
The schools in Birmingham are managed by Suzy Bleasdale who trained at Betty Fox Stage School as a child and was a member of BMOS Youth Theatre. Suzy has been choreographing for Youth Onstage for many years.
Notable alumni from our schools include Richard Hadfield (Collabro), Brenock O’ Connor (Game of Thrones) Alice Kerrigan (Bristol Old Vic and Casualty), Johnny Ragget (Wolf blood CBBC and ‘The Lady’ feature film), Oscar Lloyd (Emmerdale and 4 O’Clock Club) Tiffany Wells (Laine Theatre Arts and performers College), Ellie Watson (Urdang Academy) and numerous students have achieved private school drama bursaries.
Birmingham Schools work in partnership with West End Academy. Every day, the students will study songs, dance routines and scenes from a different West End show, with a cast member from that show. They only work with the very best professional actors, choreographers, dance captains and musical directors to make sure you get a one in a lifetime experience you will never forget!
