About Us

Setting The Standard In Performing Arts Since 2003.

Originally established in Sussex, the Birmingham school was opened in May 2013.

The school has raised the bar in the Midlands with a reputation for excellence and innovation in performing arts training. The school is open to all young people aged 6 to 18 years.

A professional team of teachers, all established performers themselves – run weekly workshops in all aspects of theatre, TV and film, singing and dance. Our unique classes prepare students for regular professional and amateur performances, exams, festivals and auditions.

If you have a burning desire to perform, want to find some confidence and meet new friends, while being trained by the most inspiring teachers out there – The Theatre Workshop is for you!

Students in the Birmingham schools have already made great progress in securing professional work within the industry due to our links with a leading children’s agency. These include Kinder Egg advert, Startrite shoes advert, Fiddler on the roof UK Tour, Annie get your gun UK Tour, Winner of Monologue Slam UK , Various CBBC Programmes.

Due to popular demand and the continuing success of our Birmingham students a second school has been opened in the afternoon.

Our student’s have also performed at Birmingham Christmas lights switch on, Sutton Carnival, 10 year Anniversary Concert at the Brighton Dome, Christmas Lights at Highbury Hall, Birmingham.

The schools in Birmingham are managed by Suzy Bleasdale who trained at Betty Fox Stage School as a child and was a member of BMOS Youth Theatre. Suzy has been choreographing for Youth Onstage for many years.

Notable alumni from our schools include Richard Hadfield (Collabro), Brenock O’ Connor (Game of Thrones) Alice Kerrigan (Bristol Old Vic and Casualty), Johnny Ragget (Wolf blood CBBC and ‘The Lady’ feature film), Oscar Lloyd (Emmerdale and 4 O’Clock Club) Tiffany Wells (Laine Theatre Arts and performers College), Ellie Watson (Urdang Academy) and numerous students have achieved private school drama bursaries.

Birmingham Schools work in partnership with West End Academy.  Every day, the students will study songs, dance routines and scenes from a different West End show, with a cast member from that show. They only work with the very best professional actors, choreographers, dance captains and musical directors to make sure you get a one in a lifetime experience you will never forget!

My daughter has been at TTW for nearly 2 years now, and she has been given so many opportunities and we have taken up every single one of them, as we see it 'As a once in a life time opportunity' Her confidence has grown so much especially when doing solo performances and as a Theatre school in whole in my opinion it is first class!!!!!

The GCSE DRAMA results were so amazing! The children were all so young... we cant believe it. They were so happy when they got their results it was lovely to see their little faces
light up one by one. The TW tutor did a fantastic job with them and I am sure she was so pleased to hear how well they did. They had such a great time and all formed such a lovely bond too..... Def would recommend it to anyone considering the course, he loved it and I really believe he never ever would have achieved that result if he had taken the exam at school... amazing. So thank u thank u thank u for offering the course and thank you for finding such a fab teacher!
