LAMDA Exams
LAMDA stands for ‘The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art’ and is the oldest drama school in the UK. LAMDA has provided theatre and the world of film and television with a generation of first class actors. LAMDA began offering speech examinations to the public in the 1880s. Since then, these examinations have been refined and developed into a comprehensive system of performance evaluation by experts in education, acting and communication.
The structure of teaching for these professional drama exams take the form of small classes of no more than eight students or private one on one tuition to maximise development. They are open to all and we actively encourage students to take these useful exams. All students who study LAMDA show a marked improvement with their Drama abilities.
Exams are usually taken annually or when the student is ready. This is assessed by the LAMDA teacher.
LAMDA exams are an excellent way to really channel acting ability, improve technique particularly speech and inflection and build confidence. They are professionally recognised exams and the higher grades count towards points equal to G.C.S.EÂ’s.Â
All our students produce  excellent results in these exams and significant progress is undoubtedly achieved.
